Another great Chicot Service Day is in the books! Thanks to so many who turned out to help: City Year Little Rock, Girl Scouts, Chicot/LRSD staff, parents, and of course, our fabulous scholars! Projects included work in our school garden, painting the stage and benches in our outdoor classroom, organizing the food pantry and clothing closet, and landscaping. Lots of great things happen when we all come together!

Dear Chicot Families,
We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred at Chicot Early Childhood Center dismissal involving a domestic dispute between two adults, which briefly extended onto our Early Childhood Center parking lot.
Our staff acted immediately by contacting the Little Rock Police Department and LRSD’s Safety and Security team. Officers responded quickly, and one of the individuals involved was taken into custody off campus without incident. Out of an abundance of caution, there was an increased police presence in the area and we went into a brief lockdown. Students and staff who remained on campus were safe, and the lockdown has been lifted. We are grateful for the swift response of law enforcement and our staff, whose quick actions helped ensure that our campus was secure.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in keeping Chicot a safe place for all. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.
