PULASKI HEIGHTS MIDDLE SCHOOL
July 18, 2024
Greetings PHMS Panther Parent,
WELCOME to the 2024-2025 Academic Year! The faculty of PHMS is excited to reengage with our returning students and eagerly anticipating greeting our new students. Most of all, we are honored that you have chosen Pulaski Heights Middle School with the responsibility of nurturing and educating your child(ren).
Our mission at PHMS is to: Teach all students at a high level and to equip them with the necessary skills & knowledge to grow and contribute to their communities. The Pulaski Heights Middle School Community maintains high expectations for teaching & learning and climate & culture. Stakeholders are a vital component of this community, and we look forward to your involvement at PHMS.
Student/Parent In-Person Check in Days have been scheduled for Wednesday, July 31st & Thursday, August 1st, 10am – 7pm each day. It will be VITAL that each parent completes the Free & Reduced Lunch Application. The percentage of completed LRSD applications directly impacts the release of federal funding. This funding is crucial for the maintenance of our academic, fiscal, and building improvement concerns.
Orientation for 6th grade students has been scheduled for Thursday, August 8th @ 10am-12pm. Sixth grade schedules and tours will be available on this date. A parent meeting for 7th and 8th grade students will occur on Friday, August 9th @ 1:00-3pm. Parents will be able to pick up tentative schedules on this date. Also, those students new to the campus of PHMS can participate in campus tours.
Information pertaining to arrival/departure procedures, class/schedule structure, lunch, and student responsibilities will be provided during orientations and during grade level meetings the first week of school. The first day of school is Monday, August 12th. We look forward to meeting our new students and greeting our returning students. Middle School classes begin at 8:45. Students should not arrive on campus prior to 8am.
Best Regards,
Darryl James Powell
